Over two dozen protesters gathered at West Town Mall today to mark the sixth anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Iraq by US and allied forces in March, 2003. It was noted that far fewer vehicles passed by the site this year, suggesting a decrease in Saturday shopping traffic due to the downturn in the economy. Most of the response by drivers was, as in recent years, positive, signified by horn blowing and thumbs-up gestures.
