Subcommittee chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson says investigative reports point to a "troubling" management culture at TVA that is resistant to change. But U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan Jr., R-Knoxville, says TVA has done everything possible to clean up the spill.
"You can never satisfy the extremists or the kooks," he says.
So the folks up in Roane County who have had their property destroyed and their lives disrupted by this disaster are "extremists and kooks?" Outrageous.

He has his head right up their .....
Duncan has had his head right up their .... since this whole thing transpired. It was just a matter of time before TVA and Duncan were exposed for the fools that they are
Would you please...
Tell us your personal reaction from your first hand visit to the disaster site, Congressman Duncan?
You have been there and seen the catastrophe personally, right?
Right?
Poll
Thanks for highlighting this quote, R.
And, feel free to take part in my suggested new poll for the Duncan web site.
Wow, the stupid hurts my head...
Duncan is either an idiot or a jerk. Either way, why is he representing the people of Knoxville? We deserve better.
Duncan is either an idiot or
Duncan is either an idiot or a jerk.
In this particular case, I think he's both.
Duncan and TVA
Just like the other Congressmen that represent our coal ash covered 300 acres, Duncan is now blaming those who have tried since 12/22/08 to get TVA to help them. Duncan was NOT at Congresswoman Johson's hearing. I was. Over 35 survivors of this disaster told her their stories...how sick some of them still are, how TVA told them they "could not or would not help them because they lived on the WRONG side of the river. TVA has moved the toxic sludge around over there for months, denhying it is hazardous to anyone. When EPA came in, the first thing they did was to post the Emory River as hazardous...no swimming, boating, fishing. It is just sure and certain that Duncan, Wamp, Davis, Cooper, none of them want to help the victims. They just want to stay on TVA's good side; too much money involved...just typical GOP BS. And the folks that testify are not kooks or extremists. They are families with sick children, or sick wives or husbands. I dare the Congressman to go camping on the Emory right across from the toxic dump! Take his kids along and let them swim in the mess!
Congressman Lincoln Davis
Congressman Lincoln Davis has been in regular contact with several Roane County citizens and met with TVA CEO Tom Kilgore yesterday. His staff asked for input before the meeting as to issues that needed to be addressed. Congressman Davis admits that it is like pushing a mountain. It will take all of us pushing in the right direction.
too busy
He's too busy trying to get his son elected to the trustee's job (I mean after all one son works at the tax assessor's office and the daughter is going to be appointed to the position of Director of Probations, even though there are several (two black) citizens that have seniority over her,she will get the job and all the others are going to be fired when the state takes over this office in the near future) and he needs to have some political experience before he is handed the crown and secepter that our forefathers said should be handed down to the duncan seat. BTW, the moving of the funds to the sherriff's for pretrial employees also means that tod cook will have a pension that will surpass even JJs by the time he retires. I don't hear a sound from the comms that are saying that this pension is breaking the co. Their silence is deafening and to watch them take their orders is quite amusing, they vote and have to swallow, pay attention if you don't believe.
Nut jobs, I tell ya' what
I'll bet all the propane at the Duncan Barbecue that Rep. Jimmy (obviously separated at birth from Hank Hill) has the utmost respect for Obama "birthers" and the tea baggers.
Please check Duncan's record
Please check out opensecrets.org and see who contributes to Congressman Duncan's re-election campaigns. Also, if you are interesed in what Congressman Duncan really stands for read his voting record. It's all online and available for you to read. See how you feel about his voting record and his ties to certain special interest groups and large corporations. Interesting out-of-state contributors also.
Why do we keep re-electing Jimmy Duncan? Check out his ranking as a Congressman while you are reading the information found at opensecrets.org. Having a computer has opened up a whole new world for me. These politicans can no longer hide any information from us if we are willing to do the research.
Jimmy is not listening to the citizens of Roane County and he is not listening to us. Again, why do we keep sending this man back to Washington? I just don't get it.
