FDR's Chair

Cathy, you have a closeup of FDR's chair that caught my eye. I have a similar one that a friend bought for a song years ago at an AEC surplus sale. These sturdy chairs used to be standard run of the mill government issue. They were made of maple or oak and were remarkably comfortable considering there is no padding. I remember hundreds of them in the old K-25 plant.

Thanks to you Randy, Michelle, and Cathy for taking us along for today's festivities.

Cool pictures.

What's the significance of the chair? Was that the actual one FDR used?

I thought about seeing if I could ride my bike on 441 today (to take advantage of the road closure) but it sounded like the park was being quite restrictive. I heard on the radio that they even closed part of the AT today.

I'd rather be cycling.

What a wonderful day. It was great to see some people we haven't seen in a while and meet some people that were so familiar to us. All of the pictures are wonderful. I was glad to take off from work for such an occasion.
