The Alcoa Highway Pedestrian bridge is finished and the Grand Opening is planned for Tuesday, December 21, 5:00PM at the Alcoa City Municipal Building.

The bridge's concrete deck is finished, lighting has been installed, and the aluminum City of Alcoa sign and logo is affixed. The greenway trail has been paved and lighting is being installed.

The bridge connects the greenway and park on the east side of the Alcoa Highway/129 Bypass near the Municipal Building, offices, hotels and restaurants to a greenway trail that meanders through a large wetlands area on the west side before emerging in the St. Ives neighborhood. It will eventually connect to the Louisville greenway extension.
