Good process, poor outcome

Well, I have to admit I'm disappointed at the outcome, but pleased by the process. I was able to vote online in the DA primary rather than faff about with trying to get my TN primary ballot (I've never registered with a party in TN so they won't send me a ballot during the primaries).

Four years ago I went to the live caucus event - which was fantastic! It was like the a pep rally and voting and a pub night (oh, yes - we had beer!) all rolled into one.

Tennessee doesn't have party registration. It has open primaries. You should be able to ask the EC to send you either the Democratic or Republican ballot.

Yeah - I have to ask for a Democratic OR Republican ballot - there's a little box on the Federal form for request of absentee ballot that makes me choose. I prefer not to, so I vote in the DA one.

It's really just me being silly since I've never voted Republican in my life and obviously can only vote for a Dem in the Democrats Abroad primary.

Not the same

Um, yeah, but asking which primary you want to vote in is not the same as asking you to register with either party.

It's just asking you whether you want to vote in the Democratic or Republican primary.

Everybody gets asked that.
