Yowza! Fay keeps on punishing Central Florida.

National Weather Service says the Melbourne area has been hardest hit and has received 18 to 24 inches of rain, depending on location. They could get 3 to 4 inches more tonight, possibly.

Here's wishing all our old friends down there the best of luck. I'll bet Fletch is glad to be back in Tennesse, at least right now.

Wow. To put that in

Wow. To put that in perspective, Knoxville has received 28.6 inches of rain in all of 2008.

Yes August has been very

Yes August has been very pleasant in the Smokies with cool breezy days and even a jacket required in the mornings (for coolness, not formality) up at Newfound Gap. I've talked to a couple of friends down there riding it out and they seem to be in a festive mood with schools closed and such. Guess it's sort of like when we get a snow in Tennessee.

See how far away you can spot Pike's Peak not long after you cross the CO line to the west southwest. There's a place called First View also with an observation tower.

In Sanford, city crews

In Sanford, city crews barricaded some of Mellonville Avenue because of flooding.

Ow! We lived on Mellonville for five years. I will say there were some spots that flooded in that area all the time.

Any one want to buy some Florida swamp land?
