Political campaigns are not decided by great critical thinkers.
This is too bad and would have kept the Republican party as the minority party of Barry Goldwater, an honest man.
But in this election, we have something else to deal with...Racism. The Republican candidate for Vice President is a two-fer even though she is a woman. She was overheard to say, when Barack Obama beat Hillary, "Sambo beat the bitch." How a woman who has risen up on her own merits can say something like that is a testament to shallow thought processes in otherwise intelligent people. Conservatives are simply wired differently. So are dedicated racists. The good news is, not everyone with inherent prejudices is a dedicated racist.
With that in mind I give you the words of someone who has worked long and hard hours, phonebanking for Obama. When talking to someone who says they are just not saure they can vote for a black man...
"We're drowning in America right now. All of us - black, white, brown, red and yellow. We've got a black man offering a life preserver, and a white man offering a concrete block. Which one do you want to choose?"
I wish I had written that!

She was overheard to say,
She was overheard to say, when Barack Obama beat Hillary, "Sambo beat the bitch."
I'd be careful quoting that. The source is one guy's blog, who based his post on an interview with a waitress only identified as "Lucille."
I'm gonna need more info than that before I give it credence.
I love the life preserver/concrete block thing tho. Although I think I'd simply ask anyone who is hesitant to vote for a black man how they liked the last 8 years.
Very desperate...
There is no verifiable proof of what you wrote. No one with any sense would cling to that.
Your desperation shows more
Your desperation shows more and more every day. Probably because your pal McCain picked someone exactly like Mike Ragsdale for his VP. Not that that there's anything wrong with that, if you're a Republican.
Palin == Ragsdale ?
So, uh, care to explain that one ?
Not exactly...
Probably because your pal McCain picked someone exactly like Mike Ragsdale for his VP. Not that that there's anything wrong with that, if you're a Republican.
Pal? Only Obama could get me to vote for McCain. Your team had to do more with my vote than the Republicans did.
I thought this was done and over until Obama picked Biden and Palin came onto the stage. Now it is close. Obama should have beaten McCain by 15 points.
The Palin/Ragsdale meme is pretty weird. Even for you. Keep clinging to the faith.
Oh BTW,
(link...)
Keep Obama on the teleprompter.
I thought this was done and
I thought this was done and over until Obama picked Biden and Palin came onto the stage. Now it is close.
I thought it was SO over when Obama picked Biden. Keep your stories straight.
Yawn. Surely you can find
Yawn.
Surely you can find something better on Aljazeera or Free Republic.
Verification
Interesting that a quote is attributed to Palin with no way to verify it. I wonder, does the OP suggest that being a conservative is the same as being racist? Does the OP even know what a racist is?
Niner
You go to such extremes to miss the point...But we know this is intentional on you part.
In your own sychophantic manner, You had no intention of ever voting for anyone other than the Republican candidate. You merely had to manufacture, ostensibly for outside consumption, some way to justify it in your own twisted mind.
Now you must try to swim with the concrete block.
Conservatives are not necessarily Republicans...
You had no intention of ever voting for anyone other than the Republican candidate.
McCain is not a conservative. Bush is not a conservative. If your side had offered a conservative I would not be stuck with McCain. Who is actually a liberal. Thanks for the Marxist. Your side has not offered a choice since '92.
Who's spreading 'Sambo' smear? Hmm, turns out it's Bambi's team!
Well, well, well! It looks like the people that spread the “Sambo” rumor are none other than Obama campaign workers!
Anatomy of a Smear - Who are Dick and Sharon Price? (link...)
PS. Anon Nine is correct. Bush and McCain are not conservatives. They are "moderates" with McCain being almost left-of-center. I thought the libs, leftists, America-haters, Democrats, and mainstream media (redundant, I know) would have loved McCain, but I guess when they see one of their own in Obama, the deal is sealed. After all, why go with a "moderate" when you can go with an extreme leftist?
Um, you guys did know that BO is a disciple of Saul Alinsky, who, in turn was a true socialist/communist in the mode of Karl Marx, right?
PPS. What kind of smear will the Left make up next? So far, we've heard "Palin affair," "Palin book ban," "Palin 'Sambo'."
It's quite obviousl the libs are desperate and just throwing mud against the wall, hoping some sticks.
Pathetic.
Saul Alinsky
Sual Alinsky was a great man.
He worked in the true spirit of Jesus Christ himself.
Why do you hate Jesus?
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

By the way...
the "black man" is offering us a "life preserver" of socialism while the "white man" offers us a "concrete block" of continued capitalism?
Gee, tough choice seeing as how socialism has been so successful everywhere it's been tried. Can't wait for my government-dictated Cuban-style healthcare. Guess I'll just have to learn how to get along without surgery, rehab, medication, crutches, and aspirin.
But I know good ol' Barry Hussein will be in line for his government-appointed doctor, too! Probably right behind me! I mean, he wouldn't subject the average American to health care he wouldn't be willing to take...right?
lobotomy, priceless
Guess I'll just have to learn how to get along without surgery, rehab, medication, crutches, and aspirin.
Dude, so sorry about all that. I had no idea I was picking on an invalid. Can I get you something? Maybe a glass of water to wash down your stupid pills?
Why don't you look in the mirror, jerksmith?
Your picture is in the dictionary next to hypocrite. You might also note this type of trash talk can get you banned around here. And before you whine about censorship, remind us of how many wingnut sites allow comments without first being "moderated."
So fitting of the GOP
Nice to see you're racist too.
Ya'll stop feeding the
Ya'll stop feeding the trolls. Randy, I don't like to see people banned but this one's way over the line.
. . . this one's way over
. . . this one's way over the line.
I'm not too fond of being called an America-hater either, even by a troll.

A smear is usually something
A smear is usually something that isn't true, made up to turn people against a candidate, like the famous, "McCain fathered a black baby" smear that was created by a man that McCain has now hired for his campaign.
Whether Palin had an affair or not doesn't change my opinion of whether she is qualified to be veep, so that one doesn't fly...Banning books is a monumental heresy in my country and there's lots of smoke for Palin on that one.
Now...
I want to give Sarah the benefit of the doubt, so I have a solution to finding out whether the "Sambo beat the Bitch" line was ever said by Sarah Palin...Let's have some reporters ask her and the people she was sitting with if it happened. Hmmm...that might be impossible, however. Sarah Palin is refusing to grant interviews or submit to questions until she is shown the proper respect.
I believe that would be a cart without a horse.
