Covenant Health purchased nearly a dozen acres for $12.6 million in Alcoa's Springbrook Farms development off of Hall Road.

The development has been in the works since 2008. "The Chattanooga firm of Kinsey, Probasco, Hays has agreed to purchase a former Alcoa Inc. aluminum plant near Alcoa, Tenn., and redevelop the site into a downtown for the city."

It finally started to grow in 2022 when the Food City moved in from down the street. Then, a Texas Roadhouse moved in from across the street. A couple of more restaurants have moved in as well as an apartment complex at 70% capacity. Two hotels opened in the past couple of years. Then, most recently a branch of U.T. Credit Union opened.

The City of Alcoa and TDOT have spent millions to grow this site. You can only hope there will be a decent return on the investment.

I would think Covenant will be a great addition to the development. Although, we're still waiting on a downtown Alcoa.
