The U.S. GOP Rep for the 2nd District of Tennessee, including Knox and Blount counties, is the same age as the Vice President of the United States. You certainly cannot tell it from his words.

He called Kamala Harris a 'DEI vice president.'
He also used the initialism for "diversity, equity and inclusion" in describing the Secret Service director, telling her she's a "DEI horror story."

He "may soon face a censure resolution, according to Politico. A report from the news outlet said a pair of House Democrats were considering whether to introduce a censure resolution against him, directly in response to disparaging comments he made against Vice President Kamala Harris."

I expect him to start stomping his feet in protest.

Racist, not doofus

And not real smart, too.

Doofus Is Too Kind

Not only is he a doofus, but he is also a fifth-rate intellect. Having accomplished little to nothing in his entire political career (he's best known, remember, for passing a bill permitting the immediate consumption of roadkill), he has the nerve to question the bona fides of Kamala Harris. A simple side-by-side comparison of their experience of qualifications should put any questions about his right to even shine her shoes to rest.

These MAGA Republicans don't fool me. We all know that "DEI hire" means either the n-word or "silly little woman" whenever they use it. They can't conceive of a world in which a right-wing white man will not always be best for any job or position.

Examples of DEI hires

I heard a darned good example yesterday of the term "DEI hire," that term recently being used by Repubs to imply someone not qualified for the position she holds in government (recently, it's always a "she" being insulted).

However, a Dem friend countered that the term really refers to "D" as in "Don Jr., "E" as in "Eric," and "I" as in "Ivanka."

Now, *those* were three not qualified for the positions they held in government!

Double-DEI Hire

And my first thought on hearing that "DEI" quip was Don Jr's testimony in the Manhattan fraud case against Trump. Do you remember it?

When prosecutors were grilling Don Jr about his insistence that he had no knowledge of impropriety in the Trump Organization's financial reporting, he doubled down, asserting that "people as high up as he in an organization could not be expected to know how to read financial statements." There's an "executive" who shoulda been working in the mail room instead, huh?!

Don Jr has been a "DEI hire" in government *and* in private industry, within the Trump Organization!
