The Japanese auto giant forecast its first operating loss in 70 years on Monday

It has been stated there is no demand for cars from the American Big Three auto companies. Now, apparently, U.S. auto buyers are forgoing the purchase of the reportedly better-built Japanese cars. Thus, is it the manufacturing process or the bad economic times that is hurting the car companies?

It's the UAW's fault.

On CNN yesterday morning one of those empty headed news readers offered her briliant analysis of this and said (paraphrasing) "American car companies are known for the poor quality of their products so we can understand why they aren't selling, but that doesn't explain why higher quality Japanese cars aren't selling."

If I were Ford, I'd sue the idiots.

Ford Motor Co. supplanted Toyota as leader of the pack in J.D. Power and Associates’ annual (2007) initial quality rankings released Wednesday, grabbing more individual awards than any other automaker for the first time since 1998, when it tied for the top spot.
