I hate to pile on, and it's not as if Josh Jordan doesn't already have enough troubles, but here's another curiosity.
In his resume submitted to County Commission, Jordan lists his occupation as Owner/Licensed Contractor, M&M TN 1 CONSTRUCTION, LLC. August 2005 – present. Among his duties, he lists "Working with KCDC, Knoxville Urban League, City of Knoxville Community Development and other local companies and programs to find tenants for new and rehabilitated units."
According to the Tennessee Secretary of State, the Department of Revenue revoked the company's charter in November, 2006. There is no reason given, but it could be an indication of tax issues.

The revocation could merely
The revocation could merely be the result of not filing a single-page corporate annual report. I've worked for several nonprofit corporations that are required to file annual reports to the state. There are check boxes for nonprofit, sole proprietorship, LLC, etc. - several types of corporations. If you don't submit it on time they revoke the charter. When you remember to submit it they reinstate the charter. It is pretty routine. There are no questions on the form (as far as I can remember) about finances, etc., just contact person, official address, board members, partners, etc. I would be surprised if it had anything to do with finance. It is probably more a reflection on the parent company in Georgia neglecting to file it unless the local rep is supposed to do it based on internal corporate practice.
Wouldn't that be listed as
Wouldn't that be listed as "administratively dissolved"?
What was Joe Taylor's reference?
Subscriber Joe Taylor made a reference Friday to Jordan having unpaid taxes (see Disclosures II thread). I asked him then if he might elaborate for us, but he didn't reply. Again Joe, can you tell us more?
Wouldn't that be listed as
Wouldn't that be listed as "administratively dissolved"? I just looked at the filing records of some companies I am familiar with and it seems like a missed filing is "administratively dissolved". It looks like something other than missing a filing deadline. I did a search on their website for revocation and the terms administratively dissolved/revocation seemed to have a similar meaning in the search results. I didn't look too far into it.
Jordan the Contractor
His resume states he is qualified for a state contractor's license. However, he does not hold one. Why should anybody be surprised at such things. We all know he is just a place holder until his mother and her gang can get someone else to be their puppet.
Here's at least one state
Here's at least one state law dealing with revocation by the department of revenue:
67-4-2116. Failure to file tax return — Revocation of charter or certificate — Reinstatement. —
(a) The commissioner is empowered to certify to the secretary of state the name of any taxpayer that fails or refuses to file any statement or franchise and excise tax return required by parts 20 or 21 of this chapter, or to pay any fee or tax required by this chapter; however, no certification shall be issued until such statement, return, or tax has remained delinquent for a period of ninety (90) days.
(b) At the time of such certification to the secretary of state, the commissioner shall give notice to the taxpayer of the action taken. Thereupon, the charter, certificate of such taxpayer or its domestication in Tennessee shall stand as automatically dissolved or revoked, and the secretary of state shall note such revocation or dissolution upon the secretary of state's records.
(c) At any time after the date of revocation or dissolution, such charter, or certificate or domestication may be reinstated upon the filing of all reports and the payment of all fees, taxes, penalty and interest due the state; provided, that the title has not been taken by another taxpayer.
