So, standing up for "states rights" and pushing back against "creeping socialism" by refusing to comply with a federal government request to establish a state-run high-risk insurance pool for people with preexisting conditions means the state must now turn the program over to the federal government who will, wait for it... insure those people under a federal government program.

Go figure.

The Fed program will probably be cheaper...

and better than a private policy for the same amount of money.

And don't think for a minute some smart insurance company wonk won't figure out a way to exclude people with higher risk factors despite the federal law prohibiting denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions. They are not about to give up on that issue without a long, bloody fight.
