The Knox County Sheriff's office loses money housing ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) detainees.

“The current cost assessment is at $140 per day and with the new Marshals/ICE Contract we are reimbursed $114 per day,” a KCSO spokesperson said

But, hey, they lose more money housing state inmates.

“It’s just like our state inmates. We don’t make any money from our state inmates because they pay us $41 or $49 a day...

I guess losing less money makes everything ok.

You know......

They could always get rid of the Board of Health and cut funding for the Health Department to the point where our children spread deadly diseases to each other in schools, killing their fellow students and reducing our education costs. They could tell them the diseases are a hoax and to ignore tried and true measures that have been proven effective against the spread of disease. Oh, wait,.......... Well I guess we are already using those savings to run our concentration camp at a loss. I wonder how many people we have locked up on civil charges? They haven't even committed a crime. This is why our taxes will go up. We can't afford to finance Trump's terror operation against refugees from despotic governments. It's best to move to the mountains and become a recluse. The collapse has started. Community values have been destroyed. We just played dead, ro0lled over and abandoned the values that made America. I'm not even sure what we've become yet.

Just thinking

Remember when the KCSO had to defend itself in court against charges of overcrowding? Do we have fewer local criminals now or are we releasing them with ankle monitors and hoping for the best?

Good question.

Good question.
