Pot at the end of the rainbow...

When a reporter asked [Pennsylvania Senate candidate Tom] Smith [Repugnicant] to clarify what kind of situation was similar to becoming pregnant from rape, the candidate responded, "Having a baby out of wedlock."

He added, "Put yourself in a father's position. Yes, it is similar."

If this is how he thinks as a father then it is obvious he knows nothing about being raped or being pregnant or being a woman for that matter.

Failures as a father

It would seem that he failed in his attempt at his definition of being a "good father" by not installing "traditional family values" and now is determined to hold society responsible for his own inadequacies.

I found it ironic that he talked about his daughter's choice. Sort of like having one's cake and eating it too.

I've noticed, on an anecdotal level, that a tactic of the anti-abortion crowd is to hold the unwed mothers that choose to bear children as heroes during pregnancy, then cast them into the social welfare system as deadbeats after they've given birth. Yhe ironies of this issue are hard to ignore.
