I haven't read the story, yet, but thought everyone should be made aware of it. It's written by Jamie Satterfield, and is already drawing all those crazy people over there on the KNS site. Why do they let those people even have computers?
Chief U.S. District Judge Curtis Collier today issued a ruling barring Knoxville attorney Herbert S. Moncier from practicing law in any federal court in the Eastern District of Tennessee.
Collier also reprimanded Moncier for remarks made about "opposing counsel."

Why indeed
Why do they let those people even have computers?
Pam, you can have their computers when you pry them from their cold, dead hands.

Herb
I will come down is support of Herb. It appeared at least the first half of the Sentinel posters did as well, I've seen them way nastier about other articles.

I think 6th Circuit will bail Moncier Out
There is a bit of a draconian feel to judges passing muster on who can represent individuals in their own courtroom, when that courtroom is located within the United States. If one of the federal judges from Memphis or even Nashville were to drop the axe on Moncier's federal practice, that's one thing, but to have judges acting as judges, prosecutors, witnesses, and juries on the priviledge of being able to represent criminals in the federal court system, that isn't going to fly with the lofty goals of equal protection and fair play. If the local judges wanted to bust Moncier for 6 months, that's one thing, but a 7 year, 5 year, 3 year minimum, that is a bit extreme and while everyone saw it coming, the locals should have bailed, publicized the proceedings, and gotten disinterested third party judges to conduct the proceedings.
Herb's a rascal. He's our rascal and despite his zealous crusade for fairness, he of all people is entitled to the fairness he has sought for others for a number of years.
