I knew that Warren guy was a pederast the moment I saw him. Predictably, he serves up the post-debate (or whatever that was) spin that was obviously concocted pre-debate:
[T]here's a difference between simply talking the lingo... after the 2004 election the Democratic pundits were saying 'The Democrats lost in '04 because they didn't talk the language of faith.' And actually that's kind of, not paternalistic, but it's talking down. It's basically saying 'If you just get the right words, then they'll think you've got the lingo.' And just because a person can say 'God' and 'Jesus' and 'salvation' and whatever doesn't mean they have a worldview. And people want to know what do they believe, not just their personal faith.
Why this does not also apply to the guy who everyone knows doesn't know anything about regiousspeak, much less religion, is an exercise left for the reader. Or this guy. Tell it, brother:
Here is a church that ostensibly affirms the essentially sinful nature of man after the Fall, that believes in the inheritance of Adamic guilt, that believes that each person must be "born again" in order to be eligible for salvation, that believes that Edenic disobedience allowed sin and evil to enter irrevocably into the world, until such time as the sci-fi reentry of the Lord Jesus Christ into this world. So here's McCain disputing one of the basic tenets of Evangelical Protestantism, and it's one of his biggest applause lines, and no one, not even the damned preacher, seems to notice?

Megachurch
Basic megachurch philosophy is based on "prosperity theology" and Saddleback is definitely a megachurch.
But no problems because it's plainly evident Warren is doing God's work, is God's man, and his judgments cannot be questioned.
How do I know this?
Because he's so successful, of course! God made him successful just like Jim Baker and Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, ad infinitum because they're such good christians.
And that's just a small taste of prosperity theology. Do you live in a fine home and drive an expensive new car?
Well then, it's because God loves you best too, not like those poor people who struggle with the common problems of humanity.
Your job is to figure out how many ways prosperity theology fits the GOP bill of sale.
Did anyone really expect anything different from Warren?
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."
