Very sad tribute to their late daughter
To politicize the loss of a child is completely out of line and serves no purpose than to call attention, in my opinion, to the ongoing struggle the Berry family has in connection with the loss of their child. It is also my understanding that the family has filed a lawsuit against the apartment complex where their daughter was murdered.
Local law enforcement made an arrest and the detainee committed suicide while in the custody of law enforcement
Local law enforcement is not a guarantee of public safety, nor does an apartment complex come with a guarantee of complete safety and security of one's person and their possessions.
I sincerely understand the horror and ongoing nightmare that the Berry family has been through and is enduring, but to put their loss into a local election is way out of line and completely beyond comprehension (do they even live around here or are they registered to vote in Knox County?)
From what I understand, the
From what I understand, the Berry’s contacted Randy, Randy did not reach out to them. The frustration the Berry family went through was directly related to the way Tim and JJ politicized the matter by not reaching out to the TBI or other outlets ready to assist. And so it dragged on for years.
I noticed JJ mentions some campaign debt on his website. Perhaps he should concentrate on not having his recent wages garnished for back child support. Don't believe it? Call him on it.
How many times have you run & lost?
Randy
How many times are you going to run for political offices you aren’t qualified to hold; you are so far from reality that honestly someone needs to take pity on you and try to make you realize this isn't ever going obtainable for you. The embarrassment you are bringing to yourself & your family is embarrassing to watch.
The public really feels they could more openly supportive if you would simply get a job and attempt to buy back your family's farm that you lost in your earlier political endeavors that were yet again out of league. Your fallen attempts at trying to be a political figure should be apparent to you. Knoxvillian's are not stupid and they haven't forgotten your time as Mayor.
Man up Mr.Tyree and finish your golden years doing more honorable things by your family; therefore, you might be remembered by doing something of integrity & honor and not for being a political joke.
Sheriff Jones can only hope you're up for the race in 2010! Citizen of Knox County have seen & hear enough from you!
IMO, it's always nice to see
IMO, it's always nice to see a Dem on the ballot. Tyree is someone willing to take the heat and get on the ballot. Thanks Mr. Tyree for your effort.
It's a shame, especially here in Blount County, we can't get a candidate on the ballot for some of these offices.
Can someone explain the
Can someone explain the "sore winner" psychology to me?
I wonder what Randy is thinking this weekend
because sure enough WE decided and WE decided that HE ain't Sheriff material.
If by "WE" you mean the
If by "WE" you mean the 10.7% of active, registered voters who voted for Jones, then yeah. Apparently the other 214,000 or so voters voted for someone else or just weren't that interested.
But you have to hand it to East Tennessee Republicans. They are organized, and have a built-in base they can get out to vote. All the county employees, vendors, builders, their families, the congregation at Concord Baptist, etc. give them a substantial head start in every election.
The only other help Republicans need is for the media to keep it all on the down low.
Democrats, on the other hand, are like turtles herding cats to the polls. Except for Bill Young, of course. They do have Bill Young.
the congregation at Concord Baptist
What? That is over the top.
over the top?...compared to
over the top?...compared to the numerous bullshit posts you have blessed Knoxviews with...after you were banned yet still have have an infatuation with seeing your name (Mike M.) in "lights"? that you just cant quit running your mouth? Whatever chickenshit...whatever...
Yes...
It was over the top. If I am "banned", then how do I post? What does banned mean to you Justin?
Which post was bullshit? I am curious.
You should look at the precinct breakdowns as well
On any given day, the purely county precincts can out vote the purely city precincts, including the precincts which are in the city and partially in the county. Most of the folks in the county only precincts are fiscally conservative, socially conservative, 2nd amendment advocates, concerned about the quality of their children's education, and their voting prefences trend conservative/Republican.
There are many more politically active people who live in the county only areas of Knox County and they are there for a reason. County wide races ordinarilly turn on the reception the county wide candidates get in the deep north/south/west/east precincts.
Randy Tyree was not well received in the deep precincts of Knox County and most city politicians are not. However, Billy Haslam would run well across Knox County, in his tenure as mayor, he has demonstrated fiscal and social conservative practices/approaches and has not tried to annex everything in West Knox County to grab for the city's monetary woes, and has addressed problems within his government whereas the county has let them fester to flames/lawsuits/TBI-FBI investigations.
