By way of Josh Flory's Property Scope blog, here's an online "we want Costco in Knoxville" petition at wewantcostco.com.
We concur. It really should be in Blount Co. though. West Knox already has Sam's.
(The Mrs. and I were just talking this morning about how we wished we had a Costco.)

Turkey Creek?
But their petition specifically says to locate it in Turkey Creek or there abouts. I would like a Costco, but will not travel that far to shop there. I still have not shopped at Turkey Creek and even Costco will not get me there.
Why a Costco when we have
Why a Costco when we have Sam's and Wal*Mart. We don't need no stinky Costco. If we need anything new it would be IKEA.
Some of us don't patronize
Some of us don't patronize Sam's/WalMart. Costco is an employee friendly company.
True dat...
Still... It would be nice to get something like Costco on the east or north side of town. All we have out here IS Sam's/Wallyworld. And with gas prices the way they are, if retailers want customers coming through their doors they are going to have to build smaller stores closer to neighborhoods so that people don't have to drive to hell'n'gone just to shop with them.
I would suggest that somebody like Costco take a look at the soon-to-be-ex-Wallyworld store in Halls. It's big, it's gonna be empty, and folks already know how to get there.

IKEA would be great. Costco is a mixed bag.
Though Costco seems better than Wal Mart, the Responsible Shopper lists some legal problems they've had: (link...)
I also wish Trader Joe's would come to Knoxville. I try to remember to write to them every couple of months with info that might seem enticing, but I never get any response.
Trader Joes would be great.
Trader Joes would be great. It would nice to get a chance to pick up a case or two of some "Two Buck Chuck"...if it were not for some bible thumping, religious ass hats (not to mention the legislators that whore themselves out to the liquor distributors) who continue to make it illegal to sell wine in grocery stores.
It's Costco corporate policy
It's Costco corporate policy to expand on the basis of online petitions? I suspect their process is much more deliberate than that.

I have to "import" one of my favorite decafs (Kirkland's Dark Roast) from the Costco in Lagrange, Ohio via my neighbor's sister when she comes for a visit.
It's fortunate that she'll be in town next week 'cause my cupboard is bare.

Costco
There are many of us in Fairfield Glade (Crossville) that had a petition signing sent to Costco. Knoxville is a lot closer than Nashville area especially with the gas prices.
We want Costco in Knoxville
We are members of Costco in Huntsville Ala. where my daughter lives. We go there at least twice a month for a visit. The costco Kirkland products are of better quality as are most of the other items handled by costco and there prices are mostly cheaper than Sam's here in Knoxville. When we shop in Huntsville each time we spend at least $200.00 on each visit. I hope you are successful in bringing costco to Knoxville.

Reminds me of the movie Idiocracy.
Any see that Costco? Cradle to grave. Literally.
Big box stores are generally not a good thing (put small mom and pop stores out of business and want taxpayer subsidies) but Costco is much better than WallyWorld.

Agreed.
I find it odd that a "progressive" blog is circulating a petition to get even more big box retail in here.

New Costco
Costco is better than Sam's club. While in Memphis we visited one and was told that one will be built in Knoxville but they have not broken ground yet. Hope it is soon.
We want it
I already have my costco card Hurry up and get here
yes we want costco
soon i hope
Customer Satisfaction
Every time my wife and I go back to MI my sister takes us to her CostCo to buy some items we love to get there. CostCo's tuna is a must. There size can is 1 oz. larger than name brands and as we enjoy it we check every can to see if has any dark tuna like all other brands have at one time or another. To date we have not found one can with dark streaks/pieces of tuna!
CostCo also has given a new meaning to "we stand behind what we sell". On our last visit I took back a dehumidfier which had failed and got a NO HASSLE cash refund even though it was almost 4 years old. What did they ask? "Are you still a CostCo member"?
