In reviewing the most recent ACA enrollment report, here are a few numbers of note. This information relates only to states with Marketplaces that are Fully-Run by HHS (FFM).

Out of the 32 states on the Federal Marketplace Plan, Tennessee ranks 12th in the percentage of individuals who have selected a Marketplace Plan, based on state populations.

Tennessee is 7th lowest (tied with Virginia) in the percentage of individuals who received financial assistance with their selected plan. Seventy-eight percent of Tennesseans who have selected a Marketplace plan can get assistance. That compares to 83% of Georgians and 92% of those in Mississippi.

Of the top 10 states with individuals who have selected a Marketplace Plan (based on % of the state's population), five are red states, four are blue states, and one (Florida) is a mix. Interesting how Red state voters don't want to pay for federal programs but they sure will take advantage of them.

More women than men in every state are signing up, from 4% (Alaska and Utah) to 24% (Mississippi). Twelve percent more women than men in Tennessee are signing up.

The greatest % of individuals signing up are in the 35-54 age range (38%), the prime employment years. Twenty-five percent are in the 18-34 age range and thirty-two percent are ages 55-64.

Of the top 10 states with the highest sign up in the 35-54 age group, all but one (New Jersey) are in the South. Tennessee is ranked fourth highest in this age group along with Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and North Carolina. How's that non-union status working out?

Lies and statistics

Isn't it statisticly possible that everyone who participated in the marketplace voted for a Democrat in the last election? Also possible the majority didn't vote at all.

Of course it's probably a mix. Not the first or last time people have voted against their self interest.
