Outrage
I'm not going to waste any time or minutes calling the White House. Maybe I'll call Alexander & Duncan.
Didn't Aaron Burr hang for being a traitor?

Forget Biden's response. My
Forget Biden's response. My eyes bulged out of my head reading John Edwards' statement.
Only a president clinically incapable of understanding that mistakes have consequences could take the action he did today. President Bush has just sent exactly the wrong signal to the country and the world. In George Bush's America, it is apparently okay to misuse intelligence for political gain, mislead prosecutors and lie to the FBI. George Bush and his cronies think they are above the law and the rest of us live with the consequences. The cause of equal justice in America took a serious blow today.
I don't think the choice of words was accidental. However, unfortunately, I fear the political spin machine and news cycle may be sidetracked for the next few days by Imus-style "outrage" that John Edwards just called into question the mental stability of the Fearless Leader.
On a side note, Aaron Burr didn't hang. He was acquitted on the charges of treason.
On a side note, Aaron Burr
And he shot a man in Weehawken just to watch him die.

And meanwhile Scooter
And meanwhile Scooter sings...
I bet there's rich folks eatin'
In a fancy dining car
They're prob'ly drinkin' coffee,
And smokin' big cigars!
But I know I had it comin'
I know I can't be free.
But those people keep a-movin',
And that's what tortures me...
Well, if they freed me from this prison,
If that railroad train was mine,
I bet I'd move out over a little
Farther down the line,
Far from Folsom Prison,
That's where I want to stay!
And I'd let that lonesome whistle,
Blow my Blues away.

>>>And he shot a man in Weehawken just to watch him die.
Randy ought to add a cube function.
Aaron Burr
Oops, my only excuse is that my last American history class was 35 years ago.
I did have the impression that our country does not look kindly on traitors. I suppose I shouldn't promote this notion since we live in a time when those of us who don't support this "war" have been called traitors.

The Washington Post reports
The Washington Post reports that Bush is calling leading authors, historians, philosophers and theologians into the White House to ask their advice about what he is doing wrong.
Over sodas and sparkling water, he asks his questions: What is the nature of good and evil in the post-Sept. 11 world? What lessons does history have for a president facing the turmoil I'm facing? How will history judge what we've done? Why does the rest of the world seem to hate America? Or is it just me they hate?
"I know, Mr. President, why don't you free a traitor? They'll love you for that."

a president clinically incapable
I saw that too. There were several good statements but I am a fan of outrage in the face of criminality. Why let Bush off the hook by saying he's nuts?
We're nuts for not going all out for impeachment.
