As we have seen along I-75 in Georgia, solar farms have been a growth industry. It is now being reported there is a growing resistance to solar farms.

A 2,100 acre solar farm near Perry, GA, was denied because of the plight of black bears and the proximity to the Oaky Woods Wildlife Management Area.

"Southeast of Perry, in Pulaski County, a 2,800-acre array stalled because an economic-development board refused the developer a tax break. County employees calculated that the abatement would shortchange taxpayers after the expense of making dirt roads passable for construction equipment."

Southwest of Perry a couple sued after runoff from another Silicon Ranch solar farm project muddied their fishing lake. They received a settlement from the company.

Solar power is a great resource. However, we do need to consider other methods, e.g. panels on all/most buildings, over all/most parking areas, etc.
