Sunrises?

My family are visiting from NYS this week. I'm having the time of my life with the Grands! My daughter-in-law would like to see a sunrise (not from the porch). So, I'm coming here to ask where in Knoxville and surrounding area are the best places to see the sunrise?

From the highest point in the State of Tennessee (and the second highest point east of the Mississippi), namely the observation deck at Clingman's Dome.

Views expand over 100 miles and into seven adjacent states. At sunrise, the fog will roll backward and uphill over the mountains.

Note that the access road to the observation deck, Clingman's Dome Road, will reopen for the season on April 1.

If you want to see the sun

If you want to see the sun rise over the city and stay close, try Sharps Ridge Park or you might try Richmond Hill Cemetery.
