Donald Trump is wrong about tariffs. Time will tell the tale.
If the worm that ate a portion of Bobby Kennedy Jr.’s brain had spawned offspring that entered the brains of Donald Trump, JD Vance and Elon Musk they at least would have an excuse for this retro economic gambit.
- Which is fairer? A progressive income tax enforced by civil servants and private sector CPAs or a national sales tax that puts the same 10, 20 or 30 percent levy on a loaf of bread or a dozen eggs whether bought by a Tennessee Titan or grandma in the mobile home?
- How can American labor at $50/hour compete with foreign labor at $15/day? Donald Trump thinks it can if the tariffs on imports are so high that prices even out. Reminds me of an old joke. Rip Van Winkle wakes up after sleeping for 20 years. He quickly phones his brother to find out what’s going on. His brother says, “Oh, man. Things are great. I’m earning more than ever and we’re selling our milk for four times the old price.” Van Winkle says, “Wow. I’ve gotta catch a ride on this carousel.” And just then the operator cuts into the call. “That will be $16 for another minute, sir.”
- When the so-called richest man in the world goes to Wisconsin and spends $20 million on a single state supreme court election, then loses the race by 10 points – in a state Trump carried last November – could voters be waking up? Time will tell the tale.

Well said. I wonder how many
Well said. I wonder how many Tennesseans get your point or agree with you. Not the ones who don't want a polio vaccine, or who want ivermectin to treat Covid-19, or who want vitamin A and cod liver oil to treat measles.
From SKB, Backdoor national
From SKB, Backdoor national sales tax that poor people pay, just like in Tennessee.
Loved the part about tariffs
Loved the part about tariffs on remote, unoccupied islands. What is the message? No one on earth is spared the Wrath of Trump (except Russia). Or, we are incompetent morons and we don't know what we're doing and moreover we don't care bcause our addled boss said so.
